Transfiguration & Freebie

In Exodus 34, Moses was so transfigured by his time on the mountain with God that the people were afraid to approach him.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hand, he did not know that the skin of his face was shining [with a unique radiance] because he had been speaking with God. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to approach him. -Exodus 34:29-30, AMP

The word translated shine here is Strongs #H7160. It means: to shine, to display or grow horns, to send out rays. The Wycliffe Bible translates this to say that Moses’ face was horned with wonderful shining beams. He was, no doubt, gloriously transfigured in the presence of YHVH!

Stephen also transfigured when standing before the Sanhedrin.

Every member of the supreme council focused his gaze on Stephen, for right in front of their eyes, while being falsely accused, his face glowed as though he had the face of an angel!  -Acts 6:15, TPT

The faces of Jesus, Moses, and Philip all shone when they were transfigured. Why?

Beloved, we are God’s children right now; however, it is not yet apparent what we will become. But we do know that when it is finally made visible, we will be just like him, for we will see him as he truly is.1 John 3:2, TPT

The Passion Translation commentary says that the Greek word translated “visible” is paneroo. It means: to be made clear, to be made visible. It comes from the verb phaino, which means: to shine

Adam was a light being who, after the fall, was shrouded in skin. We were born in Adam, under the law of sin and death, wearing garments of skin. But now we operate under the spirit of life in Christ Jesus and are clothed in garments of light (Romans 13:12).

Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12). And He said that we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Transfiguring is a revealing, an outworking, of the life and light within.

Like Gideon and His Divinely reduced army, who defeated the enemy by breaking their vessels of clay so that the light inside could shine (Judges 7:19-22), we allow the work of the cross to break the domination and limitation of our “jars of clay” (the flesh) so that our spirits, who are one with His spirit, can shine.

…continue to work out your salvation (that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity). -Philippians 2:12, AMP

Everything that needs to be done IN you was completed at salvation, and now that salvation is being worked OUT, overtaking and aligning your soul, your body and all of creation! Just like the Israelites, who were given their Promised Land, yet had to go in and literally possess it, so you have been saved (spirit), you are being saved (soul) and you will be saved (body). When salvation touches your soul, you are healed from trauma. Lies you have believed are replaced with truth. You are able to connect intimately with God in your mind and emotions, and your will comes under His government. When salvation is worked out into your body, your entire being enters into Divine order and complete wholeness, and what you are experiencing in the heavenly realm manifests physically and tangibly. You are transfigured. You shine!

…the kingdom of God is within you. -Luke 17:21, NKJV

The Image Of The Heavenly Man

The first man was from the dust of the earth; the second Man is Yahweh, from the realm of heaven. The first one, made from dust, has a race of people just like him, who are also made from dust. The One sent from heaven has a race of heavenly people who are just like him. Once we carried the likeness of the man of dust, but now let us carry the likeness of the man of heaven. -I Corinthians 15:47-49, TPT

Remember, Jesus is an example OF us, so transfiguration is where we’re going. And it is for you! We once bore the image of the earth-man, Adam, but now we bear the likeness of the heavenly man, Christ… including His resurrected, glorified body.

But we are a colony of heaven on earth as we cling tightly to our life-giver, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our humble bodies and transfigure us into the identical likeness of his glorified body… -Philippians 3:20-21, TPT

So, just keep that unconditional YES to the Lord in your heart… as He works out what He has already done within!
