God IS Love, and love can’t help but transform everything it touches. Maybe you’ve spent a lot of time and energy hating something horrible that happened to you or hating a part of yourself that is not yet victorious. Loving a wounded or sinful area of your life does not mean you are condoning sin. It is simply targeting something that needs to be transformed and is transforming it with the most powerful substance — God Himself! If it is a traumatic event that you’re struggling to overcome, release love into that memory. It does not mean that you love that it happened. It simply means that you know how to transform that thing, and love is your laser. Release His healing love into any emotions that are contrary to love and watch them dissipate. Just as light displaces darkness simply by showing up, love dismantles everything contrary, just by showing up. God is Love, and all He has to do is show up! Truth paves the way into the deepest layers of your soul, revealing what is in need of transformation, so that love can do the transforming!
Pause for a moment and picture yourself purposefully targeting any specific things Holy Spirit is highlighting with His strong, pure love. It doesn’t matter if you are feeling it or not; it is your choice to love that opens the door of your heart for the King of Love to come in. If Holy Spirit is not bringing up any specific areas at this time, simply target your entire being. At this point, Holy Spirit may take over with imagery specifically suited to your situation, aimed at helping you to encounter His love in the way most beneficial to you. If that happens, go with it. If not, picture yourself with your “love laser” specifically targeting every painful memory, every area of bondage and everything you have hated. You are choosing to release perfect love into those things and to fully and unconditionally love every part of yourself, as God does. Try to stay engaged in your imagination, watching whatever He shows you. Soon you will feel the shift. You may even want to stand in front of a mirror and say aloud, “I choose this day to fully love all of me… without condition, without limitation.” By loving what you have hated, you are transforming it!
“You are to love the Lord Yahweh, your God, with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, with every thought that is within you, and with all your strength.” This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is this: “You must love your neighbor in the same way you love yourself.” You will never find a greater commandment than these.
–Mark 12:30-31, TPT
What Yeshua is telling us here is that every problem, without exception, is a manifestation of a violation of the law of love. Every struggle in your life, at its very root, reveals an inability to love and be loved by God, an inability to love and be loved by others or an inability to fully love and honor yourself! Sometimes we make the mistake of loving others instead of ourselves rather than loving them as we love ourselves. This often manifests as codependency or enabling, and, though it may appear loving, it will never produce the desired fruit… because it is a violation of the law of love.
