Your heart is a multidimensional organ that interfaces with every part of you. As such, it is the key to alignment with God, and it is the portal through which your miracle flows. I have had several encounters with the Rivers of God’s heart and discovered that the 4 chambers of the human heart are a reflection of the 4 rivers in Eden.
These encounters were part of my healing journey as I emerged from my “sifting” season. When the Lord first began to heal me, He took me to the River of Life, which we see described in the book of Revelation.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, flowing with water clear as crystal, continuously pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb. The river was flowing in the middle of the street of the city, and on either side of the river was the Tree of Life, with its twelve kinds of ripe fruit according to each month of the year. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations.

As I was spending time with the Lord one day, I suddenly found myself at the River of Life, where His living water was flowing from His Spirit to my spirit – the real me. I would drink the water, swim in the water, breathe the water. This went on every day for several weeks, until one day, I saw a dam with water rushing right up to it and then stopping. I heard, out of your belly will flow rivers of living water (John 7:38), so I knew, by the Spirit, that the dam I was seeing was the wall of pain, grief, doubt, unbelief, disappointment and disillusionment residing in my soul. I saw this dam being held in place by bands on the 4 corners, so by faith, I took the sword of the Spirit and cut them. As I did, Holy Spirit dropped this verse in my spirit:
What are you, O great mountain [of obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who will rebuild the temple] you will become a plain (insignificant)! And he will bring out the capstone [of the new temple] with loud shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”

So, in obedience to what He revealed to me, I spoke the words “grace, grace” aloud to that dam until I saw it break. Immediately, this living water flowed, unimpeded, from my spirit into my soul, cleansing and breaking every obstruction. But the most significant part of this encounter is what happened next….
Because of the pain of the last season, I was in a very dry place both spiritually and creatively and had not written any songs in quite some time. The next day, to my surprise, as soon as I sat down with the Lord, He gave me an instant download of two songs. When I went to the keyboard to work them out, He gave me another one. And then later in the day, another.
This tangible manifestation perfectly illustrates the fact that what happens in the heavenly realm is real, more real than anything you experience in this temporal illusion we call earth. Your spirit, made alive in Christ, grasps these realities and your conscious awareness ushers them into your soul. As obstructions are removed, you begin functioning as you were designed – a free flowing channel of that reality manifesting in the physical world. In this encounter, heaven manifested through me in the form of songs. And it did so as I came into agreement with the word of God and spoke aloud the words “grace, grace!” His words flowing through me released a flow of life that displaced dryness and death!
Remember… If you are born from above, you are already seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). So, in simple childlike faith, through the gate of your sanctified imagination, engage with the heavenly realm. Use the word of God as a doorway and drink from the River of Life… allowing His life to flow from your innermost being, changing your world.
