The Creative Power Of the Living Word

So, what does it sound like when the roar of God’s voice rushes through you? It sounds like Yeshua, of course! He is the Living Word. The more you know Him and the more you live out of your oneness with Him, the more accurately you will echo His sound.

To go back to the very beginning is to find the Word already present there, face to face with God. The Word is I AM; God’s eloquence echoes and concludes in Him. The Word equals God. –John 1:1, MIRB

Yeshua’s words possessed CREATIVE POWER. And the same creative power demonstrated in the beginning was also demonstrated in His earthly life.

And when he said unto them, I AM, they went backward and fell to the ground.
–John 18:6, JUB

We see the power of His words displayed in every miracle He spoke into existence. Demons obeyed him. The winds and waves obeyed Him. Creation obeyed Him. Everything He prayed happened. Since you are created in His image, your words possess creative power, too.

You may be familiar with the research of Japanese scientist Dr. Masaru Emoto, who wrote the book, Hidden Messages in Water. Using high-speed photography, Dr. Emoto photographed frozen water crystals exposed to various types of stimuli. Those that were exposed to beautiful music and positive words like “thank you” “I love you” and “you’re beautiful” formed exquisite, snowflake-like patterns. He then photographed identical frozen water crystals that were exposed to negative words such as “I hate you” “you’re ugly” and “kill.” These water crystals formed incomplete, disfigured, grotesque patterns with dull colors, proving that words affect and physically change the crystalline structure of frozen water. And remember, the human body is 50-65 percent water! Quite literally, your words possess the power of life and death!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
–Proverbs 18:21, NKJV

Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho tells the story of a couple in his church that had decided to divorce. Before meeting with them, he prayed, felt that their marriage strife was a demonic assignment, and went into the spirit realm. He said, I knelt down, closed my eyes, and through the cross of Jesus Christ, by the help of the Holy Spirit, I began to see this family rejoined together again. I envisioned a clear picture, and prayed, “Oh, God, make it like that.” He had faith that he had changed this situation in the spiritual dimension. When he arrived at their apartment, there was an icy chill in the air, and neither were even willing to consider reconciliation. He grabbed both of their hands and simply commanded the adversary to release his hold of hatred on them both. In the name of Jesus, he commanded that their hearts become tender and rejoined. As he was praying, he felt the tears of both husband and wife drop on his hands. He knew that it was done, and he left. The next time he saw them, they told him that, as soon as he had uttered those words, they both felt walls break in their hearts and that now they couldn’t even remember why they were arguing or understand why they would not want to be together. Dr. Cho went on to say:

The Holy Spirit needs both your word and mine. If I had pleaded with them or if I had silently prayed for them, I would have missed the target. I gave the word, and the word went out and created. The Holy Spirit needs your definite word, the spoken word of faith.

This is a perfect example of the creative process outlined in Miracles Are Normal. He received the thoughts of the Father, so he went into the heavenly realm, where Holy Spirit helped him to see true reality with the eyes of his heart and to feel the accompanying feelings of victory. He then spoke this reality out in faith in the earth realm, creating it.

Sometimes, we guard fragile areas of our hearts, shrinking back from speaking things that others might misunderstand or ridicule. Sometimes, we fear that nothing will manifest when we speak. But, as John Wimber used to say, Faith is spelled R.I.S.K! As elohim, we cannot play it safe, waiting until we see the manifestation before we speak, because…We are the ones speaking it into existence! Jesus changed Simon’s name (which means “reed”) to Peter (which means “rock”), and he became it. God called Abraham “father,” and then he became it.

As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.
–Romans 4:17, AMPC
