Faith: Your Co-Creating Substance

Have you cried out for the supernatural and are now finding yourself in a situation which demands it? If so, it is probably by Divine design and is aimed at motivating you and teaching you how to co-create with your Creator.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
–Hebrews 11:1, NKJV

Faith is the frequency of God resonating in you when you are in agreement. It is produced when you hear God’s Word and choose to believe it. When you believe His word, you become the recipient of the substance (yes, a literal substance) that causes spiritual reality to manifest in the earth realm. Faith is spiritual substance which translates into earthly substance through you. Just as you need an earthly body to interface with the earth realm, and just as Yeshua took on an earthly form so He could be seen and touched by us, so spiritual realities need faith in order to manifest in the earth realm.

We see from the following Scripture that the invisible realm is more real than the visible one:

…we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.
–II Corinthians 4:18, TPT

And we see from Hebrews 11:3 that the visible was made out of the invisible by the word of God. The visible is merely a manifestation of the invisible!

It is by faith we understand that the world was fashioned by the word of God, and thus the visible was made out of the invisible.
–Hebrews 11:3, MFT

Faith is the life and frequency of God which causes the illusion of this temporal realm to bow to His lordship, His will and His word. It is through faith that we overcome the illusion of this temporal world (this dimension) and all its limitations. It is through faith that we overcome doubt, unbelief, fear, lies, limitation, “impossibility” and all that which is contrary to the greatness of God’s promises to us.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. –I John 5:4, NKJV

The Hebrew word for faith is emunah, which is Strong’s #H530. It means: “firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness.” Unlike the Greek concept of faith that emphasizes trust in someone or something, the Hebrew definition of faith is very action-oriented. We see this word demonstrated in Israel’s battle against Amalek in Exodus 17. Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill overlooking the battle. Moses held the rod of God, lifted up his hands and, as long as they were lifted, Israel prevailed in battle. But when he let them down, Amalek prevailed. Notice what happened next…

But Moses’ hands grew weary; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; so his hands were steady (emunah) until the going down of the sun. –Exodus 17:12, RSV

So, the literal Hebrew idea of faith in God is basically that of supporting God! It might seem strange to think that we could even begin to support our omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient God… until you remember that He has chosen to work in the earth realm through us and that it is His delight to do so. Within this framework, we see that our support is our agreement with Him, which allows Him to establish His dominion and His rightful place of rulership here — in and through us!

The word emunah actually comes from the Hebrew word aman, which is Strong’s #H539. Aman means: “to support, confirm, be faithful, uphold, nourish, to be firm or sure, established, trust, believe.” It is mentioned for the first time in Scripture describing Abram’s belief:

And he [Abram] believed in (trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness (right standing with God). –Genesis 15:6, AMPC

In the New Testament, Paul told Abraham’s story this way:

So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. –Romans 4:16-22 NLT

We also find the word aman in this Messianic prophecy:

I will fasten him as a peg in a secure (aman) place, And he will become a glorious throne to his father’s house. –Isaiah 22:23, NKJV

.The picture here is that of a tent peg being driven into a firm place. We see from these verses that both the word “believed” and the word “secure” are the Hebrew word aman, communicating to us that Abram was firm in his support of God (agreement with Him) in the same way that a tent peg driven into firm ground supports the tent. In both of these situations, neither the stormy winds nor the adversities of life nor, in Abram’s case, the passing of many years and the hopelessness of his natural situation, could hinder the steadfastness of his aman. In the same way, our support of God (our agreement with Him) causes us to be a firm and unshakeable place for the seed of His word planted within us to produce the fruit of His supernatural life. Remember, all things are already yours and already exist in their entirety in your Father’s heart and mind. It is simply your consistent (emunah) connection to Him that enables you to receive and manifest those things here, in the same way your computer stays connected long enough for a file to be transferred. Your human spirit is one with His Spirit, and your conscious awareness of that reality and your choice to let Him live through you is the abiding that will enable you to receive whatever you desire.

The frequency of God’s word carries within it the substance to create. We have the privilege and opportunity to receive and benefit from it by coming into agreement (saying aman). You’ve probably already picked up on this, but the Hebrew word aman is very similar to our English word “amen” and is also very similar in meaning. It is defined as meaning “so be it.” This is basically what Mary said to the angel Gabriel when he visited her announcing the supernatural conception of Jesus, our Messiah:

Then Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” –Luke 1:38, AMP

So, the Word of God is the seed, and our hearts are the soil — the womb, so to speak. We receive His word by believing it.

In humility, receive the word implanted in you, which is able to save your souls.
–James 1:21, RGT

Holy Spirit broods over that Word, just like He did in the beginning. He overshadows us, just as He did Mary. And this is how spiritual reality (word made flesh) is birthed in the earth, producing tangible substance.

So now, pause for a moment to rest and abide in the One who is altogether capable, choosing to believe what your spirit knows to be true. Yield to Holy Spirit’s brooding. Simply BE overtaken, like you are being swept out to sea. Don’t try to stay afloat but allow those billows to cover your head (your logic, your small thoughts, the mind of man). For when you cease breathing the air of earth, the air of heaven will fill your lungs, and you will fly. You will soar as never before…on wings of hope and faith.

Here is a song you may enjoy as you allow Holy Spirit to brood over you and your promises: Overshadowed
