We’ve been talking about lukewarmness and its connection to lawlessness, and you’ve learned that darkness hates unbridled passion. Recently, I had an experience where I was able to see exactly why…
“…The earth was a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the Spirit of God brooding over the dark vapors.” – Genesis 1:2, TLB
In a recent encounter, I saw Holy Spirit brooding over the chaos surrounding our world today. The prayers, decrees, declarations and legislation of God’s sons were actually part of that brooding. You may be aware that one of the mottos of secret societies is “order out of chaos.” In this way, evil men create their own chaos, making themselves the “order” that solves their self-created problem, thus amassing money, power and position. This is another instance where we see the counterfeit merely being a stolen and perverted version of the “real.” Of course, we see the real in Genesis 1, when Elohim birthed creation. We see it again as He is birthing His sons in the earth.
I saw that all of creation was poised, waiting and ready as the Father inhaled, preparing to release the “Let there be!” that changes everything. And I saw our unbridled passion for Him drawing us through the chaos and into the eye of the storm, where we felt perfect peace and saw from a perfect perspective. The sons of God were inside the chaotic storm with Him and together we were saying, “Let there be!” according to the largeness of His heart and His plans. I knew that what we created together was a demonstration of His great mercy, kindness, generosity and love.
As I stepped into the eye of the storm, I felt such deep and indescribable peace. I was aware of chaos all around me, but I was totally unconcerned and unmoved. As long as my eyes were locked with His, I remained centered and steadfast, but whenever I looked away, the centrifugal force sucked me into the chaos. It reminded me of when Peter walked on the water and stayed afloat as long as He was focused on Jesus. Gazing at Him and beholding Him face to face is the only way to stay centered. It is His burning heart within you that will lead you through the chaos, the cares of this life, and the lukewarmness… right into the eye of His heart!
James 5:16 says that “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (NKJV). The Passion Translation says, “Tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer!” So, keep that passion burning. If you feel dry or cold, don’t succumb to condemnation or despair. Just ask Him to set you ablaze. Our God really is a consuming fire. And He is Faithful and True. Step into His fiery heart today!
Forever ablaze,
Virginia
