Gratitude

Genesis 7:11 says, “…on that day, all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened.”  The fountains of the deep could represent the hearts of mankind.  As hard-heartedness is broken up and gratitude, worship and thanksgiving gush forth, the heavens respond in a torrent of Divine blessing.

Matthew 25:29: “For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what He has will be taken away.”  The ones who “have” are the ones who choose to focus on what God has given–even if it is little, even if it is in seed form.  The who “do not have” are those who are focused on their lack (ingratitude). Gratitude forces your focus to shift from what you do not have to what you do have.  And what you focus on multiplies!  This is a spiritual law and works for all who apply it.

So today, even if you feel overwhelmed by pain or lack, draw upon God’s grace to “enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.”  He will receive the faintest whisper of gratitude with a smile and will multiply that precious sacrifice.

May His beauty rain down upon you today….
